Food Safety & Allergen Notice

This Notice applies to all surplus food items made available through the GreenBox platform.

1. Nature of Surplus Food

GreenBox connects Users with unsold food that Restaurant Partners have available at the end of a service day, offered at a discount rather than discarded. As such items were prepared earlier in the day for regular service, they are intended to be consumed promptly upon receipt, and are not intended to be stored or reheated in the manner of a freshly prepared meal.

2. Responsibility for Food Safety

Each Restaurant Partner is solely responsible for the preparation, handling, and packaging of the items it lists, and for compliance with applicable food safety laws in India, including maintenance of a valid FSSAI license or registration. GreenBox does not prepare, cook, or package any food item, and does not independently inspect or test food supplied by Restaurant Partners.

GreenBox is in the process of collecting FSSAI documentation from Restaurant Partners as part of onboarding. This section will be updated to reflect confirmed verification status prior to publication.

3. Allergen Information

Allergen information will be displayed against individual listings once in-app ordering is live. Users with a food allergy or intolerance should not rely solely on the item description, and should contact the relevant Restaurant Partner directly, or contact GreenBox at hello@getgreenbox.in, for further information prior to ordering.

4. General Food Handling Guidance

Users are advised to:

(a) inspect packaging and the item upon receipt, prior to consumption;

(b) consume the item promptly following pickup or delivery; and

(c) refrain from consuming any item that appears unusual in smell, appearance, or temperature, and to notify GreenBox accordingly.

5. Reporting a Concern

Users experiencing a food safety issue or allergic reaction following consumption of a GreenBox item should contact hello@getgreenbox.in as soon as possible, providing relevant order details. GreenBox will refer the matter to the relevant Restaurant Partner and assist the User as appropriate.
